A human-centred approach to burnout prevention at work, grounded in capacity, values and alignment.
Burnout Prevention at Work
Burnout doesn’t happen because people aren’t resilient enough. It happens when demands consistently outpace capacity.
Work Well is a practical, human-centred workshop designed to help individuals and teams reconnect with their needs, values, and priorities — so they can work more sustainably, clearly, and effectively.
Burnout is rarely caused by the workplace or the individual alone. More often, it emerges from the interaction between systems, expectations, and personal capacity. Understanding this dynamic — at both an individual and collective level — is where meaningful alignment and lasting change begin.
Work Well | Workshop Overview
-
Burnout is reframed as a systems and alignment issue — not a personal failing — creating psychological safety and shared understanding from the outset.
-
Participants explore what matters most to them personally and professionally, and where misalignment between values, priorities, and expectations may be contributing to exhaustion or disengagement.
-
Participants assess their current capacity across four key areas:
Mental: clarity, boundaries, cognitive load
Physical: energy, rest, pacing
Emotional: support, recognition, psychological safety
Meaning & Purpose: values alignment, autonomy, sense of contribution
Participants rank each area, transforming imbalance into practical, actionable insight.
-
Rather than forcing change, the session addresses common burnout-related beliefs such as “This is just how it is” or “There’s nothing I can do to change this.”
Using compassion-based reframing and a simple thought ladder, participants identify a more supportive, realistic belief that allows to embrace change without overwhelm.
-
Each participant leaves with:
One values-aligned action they can take immediately
Awareness of likely barriers
A plan for support or structure to help the change integrate sustainably
Why Burnout Prevention Matters at Work
Burnout affects far more than individual wellbeing — it has a direct impact on how organizations function.
When burnout is present, it undermines:
Decision-making
Productivity and focus
Retention and recruitment
Engagement and morale
Workplace culture and trust
Burnout prevention is about shaping work in ways that support clarity, capacity, and sustained engagement over time.
